S4C's cameras return to Park Avenue on Saturday for Aberystwyth Town's vital Welsh Premier League Christmas derby against Carmarthen Town, (writes ATFC.org)

The game is vital to both sides' Top Six aspirations, and a win would be a major boost to two sides currently struggling for form. The Black and Greens have been disappointed to pick up just one point from their last four games, but the Old Gold's record is no better, and last Saturday they were beaten 2-0 by ten-man Rhyl, a result which saw Aber fall out of the Top Six for only the third time this season. On both previous occasions Ian Hughes' side have responded with terrific home wins, and Black and Green supporters will be hoping that normal service will resume on Saturday evening.

Aber's performance last Friday in farcical conditions was disappointing, and Port Talbot's two late goals resulted in a gut wrenching first home defeat for ten months, but the Black and Greens will be determined that four minutes of madness will not cost them a place in the Top Six, and will be glad of a chance to redeem themselves on Saturday.

After training on Monday Ian Hughes is glad to report no serious injury concerns for Saturday's game, although Geoff Kellaway again will be absent, serving the third and final game of his suspension.

Carmarthen are unable to name recent signing Luke Bowen until January 2nd, but leading scorer Christian Doidge will be a serious threat to the hosts.

Town have benefitted from a significant increase in attendances so far this season, and will be hoping for another big turn out to inspire them to a crucial three points. Please note the later kick off time of 3.45pm.
