Another Euro Appointment for Welsh Referees

Welsh Referee Lee Evans, who is currently in the Faroe Island on Champion’s League duty will fly to Austria for the UEFA Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round 2nd Leg game between Rapid Vienna and Asteras Tripolis of Greece. Finland v Slovenia Friendly International.

His Assistants will be Phil Thomas (Trealaw) and Gareth Wyn Jones (Bontnewydd) with the 4th Official being Brian James of Rhydyfelin. This will prepare Lee well for his game the following week in Turku when he takes charge of the Finland v Slovenia Friendly International.

Our Welsh UEFA Referee Observers have again been appointed to games in the third Qualifying Round making it three consecutive appointments for Brian Lawlor, and Referees’ Manager Rodger Gifford with two consecutive appointments for Ray Ellingham.

Brian and Ray have games on 8th August with Brian going to the Czech Republic for Jablonec v the winners of the Stromgodset (Norway) / Debrecen (Hungary) 2 round game and Ray goes to the fantastic new stadium in Poznan in Poland for the Lech Poznan v the winners of the Zalgiris (Lithuania)/Pyunik (Armenia) 2 round game. On August 1st Rodger will visit either Northern Ireland or Greece for the winners of the Linfield v Xanthi game who will host either KR of Iceland or Standard Liege of Belgium.
