Reds win at Lido, but it could be Final Act

Llanelli's inexperienced team battled to another Play-Off Conference victory in Saturday's live game at the Marstons Stadium, but with the club in Court on Monday facing a Winding-up order by HMRC, it could have been the famous club's final act.

Reds' boss Bob Jeffrey who has been with the club for over seven years as a goalkeeper coach, head of youth and now first-team manager admitted his fears for the club's future, but the performance on the field showed no sign of crisis.

Craig Moses got the former Champions off to a good start with the opener on 14 minutes, but the Brecon-based striker who was a pre-match doubt for the match due to the snow in his hometown, was dismissed on 28 minutes as referee Bryn Markham-Jones showed him a red card.

The 10-men Reds doubled their advantage on 65 minutes when ex-Swansea City youth teamer Jordan Smith who joined from Haverfordwest in January netted. Chris Hartland scored for Lido in stoppage time to give the hosts hope in Paul Reid's first game back in charge, but another New Year signing, Jack McKenna ensured a win for Jeffrey's with the visitors' third in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

The Lido defeat leaves them 13 points adrift at the foot of the table, with six games to play, with Llanelli climbing to eighth, five points behind Bala Town.
