Former Cardiff City,Port Talbot, Llanelli and Afan Lido striker Mark Jones has signed for Aberystwyth for an 18 month period.

The paper-work was completed on December 31st which allowed the former Lido captain to play in the New Year's Day Corbett Sports WPL clash against Newtown at Latham Park.

Although Jones scored on his debut for the Seasiders - Aberystwyth lost 3-1 - a result which leaves them in the bottom two positions of the WPL.

Mark Jones told the Official Corbett Sports WPL Website:

"The result today wasn't what we were hoping for but Aber are a good club and I'm very happy to have signed for them.

"I was at Llanelli with Wyn Thomas and Jordan Follows and they told me that Aberystwyth is a well run club and that I'd be happy there if I signed. The top six seems to be out of our reach now - but we'll do all that we can to finish seventh and mount a charge for Europe that way."
